Georgia's bats are real, but McPherson and O'Connor know how to steal a super regional.

The Bulldogs swept Mississippi State 4-0 in the regular season with their elite lineup intact, and Foley Field will be a fortress this weekend. But Georgia hasn't faced Ryan McPherson yet; the State ace is a different animal in June, and Tre Phelps' one-game suspension (however brief) creates a small early window. Brian O'Connor has been here before and won these kinds of series with less talent. Mississippi State is no Cinderella story; they're a 43-win program with postseason pedigree that grinded through their regional and can pitch. The Bulldogs advance, but not cleanly. Expect a Game 3 that comes down to the final outs.
